New songs, a new show…

We’re playing The Jungle Music Club in Union Square, Somerville, on Friday June 23, 2023. Our set time is 8pm. We’ll be playing with our friends the Bill Dwyer Band (9pm), Autumn Hollow (10pm) and Superuser (11pm). In addition to playing some of your favorite Powderhouse songs, we’ll be debuting a bunch of NEW tunes that we’ve been feverishly working on these past couple of months. Doors at 7, 21+, $10 cover. Next stop on the reunion tour – Notch Brewing in Brighton

The Powderhouse Reunion Tour continues with a gig at Notch Brewing in Brighton on Thursday March 30. We’ll opening for our buddies Modern Day Idols. Doors at 7, music starts at 7:30. Admission is free, but a shelf-stable food donation is suggested. Check out the Facebook Event for all the details.

New gig – The Square Root in Roslindale (Feb. 11, 2023)

Reunion show!

Hell must have frozen over, because Powderhouse is playing a reunion show at the International Pop Overthrow Festival, held this year at the Union Tavern (formerly PA’s Lounge) in Union Square, Somerville. Here is the line-up for night #3 on Friday, November 18, 2022:

Missing the dulcet tones of Powderhouse? Check out our newly expanded “Sampler” on Bandcamp. It’s like a greatest hits album (except we didn’t have any hits), with songs taken from all 4 of our “official” releases plus one fan-favorite cover song. We think you’ll dig it!

New releases from the Powderhouse archives….

So, with all this free time on our hands, we’ve been going through the Powderhouse archives and we were able to put together 2 new digital releases for your listening pleasure. The first is called “Live at FOC Studios 2016/2017 (Demos)”.  It’s a collection of seven original songs that we were working on before going on hiatus at the end of 2017. All songs were recorded live during rehearsals at FOC Studios during 2016 and 2017 with no overdubs and minimal editing. The first three tracks are are “new” songs (tracks 1-3) that were written and arranged after the recording sessions for the EP “Spark”. The next two songs (tracks 4 & 5) are previously unreleased “old” songs with updated arrangements; the last tracks (6 & 7) are “old” songs that were previously released on the 2010 LP “In The Meantime” but with new arrangements. The second release is called “Covers Vol. II”. As the title suggests, it’s a collection of eleven (11!) cover songs that the band was working on before going on hiatus at the end of 2017. Some of these songs were played at gigs, some never made it out of the basement. All songs were recorded live during rehearsals at FOC Studios during 2016 & 2017, with no overdubs and minimal editing. You can check it out here:

Who knows, maybe when things get back to “normal” and we can all go out and attend live music shows again, we’ll get our act together and play some of these songs again in front of a live audience. Stay strong and keep healthy! Hoping for the best in 2021.

We’re excited to announce that we will release our new EP “Spark” on Friday Nov. 17th on FOC Records. It will be available on CD as well as a digital download from CD Baby, Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music and just about anywhere else digital music is sold or streamed. We’ll be celebrating with a EP Release Party at PA’s Lounge in Somerville MA on Saturday Nov. 18, 2017, where we’ll be peforming at the International Pop Overthrow (IPO) Festival.
